Loakal was chosen by the City of Oakland to receive a Kiva Zip Loan. It's similar to Kickstarter, except you will be paid back in full for your contribution. Anyone can become a lender. Our goal is to raise $5,000 by January 21 to purchase an art book collection for our store. As a space that supports the arts, we feel that a dynamic collection of art books would strengthen the creative dialogue we have going between artists and the public. You can contribute as little as $25 to help us reach our goal. Read more about the project
